BJP-ruled states of Gujarat and Maharashtra witnessed a man-made pulses (dal) crisis during the period of 2015-16, which is called the Dal scam. There was an artificial scarcity of pulses, which became possible with the help of the government authorities, it was alleged. With Modi government at the Centre and BJP governments in the states, people were made to pay 150%-200% extra during this period. This comes to over Rs 2,50,000 crore. The price of pulses skyrocketed and varied between Rs 130 to Rs 200 per kg. Importers took delivery of stocks and hoarded it at foreign ports, as well as in godowns within the states.

Parsekar cleared this immediately. Parrikar had publicly promised that no more Goa land would be handed over to the Centre when he was the CM.

BJP member Rajendra Singh’s name was associated with a ₹ 10,000 crore admission scam (DMAT scam) in Madhya Pradesh wherein the Controller of Dental and Medical Admission Test exam, Yogesh Uprit was arrested. An affidavit filed by the CBI in the Supreme Court said: “The DMAT scam as highlighted by the petitioners, purportedly started from 2009 and every year thousands of students have been admitted in private dental and medical colleges against the management quota. Hence in its scope and depth, the DMAT scam appears to be many times more than the Vyapam scam.”
